HP Warranty API

Warranty information for HP devices

What is the HP Warranty API?

The HP Warranty API provides warranty information for HP devices through a RESTful programmatic interface.  The API checks the original warranty and looks for extended warranties (HP Care Packs).

The Warranty API works in conjunction with Appliance Management Software, such as ServiceNow, Quest KACE, Microsoft SCCM, GLPI, Device42.

The Warranty API is a programmatic alternative to HP's Product Warranty Check website, which remains freely available for on-demand spot checking of warranties of up to 20 HP devices at a time.  It is a useful alternative and recommended for anyone needing to periodically check warranties of less than a few hundred HP devices.

Which HP devices are covered?

The HP Warranty API can be used to check the warranty status for most HP devices:

  • PCs (Laptops, Desktops, Workstations, Gaming PCs, Chromebooks)
  • Peripherals (Monitors, Mice, Keyboards, Headsets, etc.)
  • Printers (LaserJet, InkJet, All-in-Ones, A3, etc.)
  • Scanners (ScanJet scanners, Digital Senders)

Notably NOT covered:  servers from Hewlett Packard Enterprise (see instead Hewlett Packard Enterprise warranty).

Who can access and use the HP Warranty API?

The Warranty API is intended for use by businesses to check the warranty status of their business' fleet of HP devices.  HP’s customer advocacy group, along with your business' HP Account Manager, will review all requests to access the HP Warranty API and approve access for all validated HP customers.

At present, the Warranty API is NOT available for use by IT Service companies and 3rd party ISVs that check warranty information for their customers' devices.  It is also NOT available for use by individuals and companies that do not have an HP Account Manager.  If either of these situations is your case and you still want to request access, then please contact the HP Warranty API customer advocacy group with specifics of your situation.  Please also consider using HP's Product Warranty Check website.
